from psalm 104

You cause the grass to grow for the cattle,
and plants for us to cultivate,
that we may bring forth food from the earth,
and wine to gladden our hearts,
oil to make our faces shine,
and bread to strengthen our hearts.

We all look to you,
to give us our food in due season.
When you give to us, we gather it up;
when you open your hand, we are filled with good things.
When you hide your face, we are dismayed;
when you take away our breath, we die
and return to dust.

When you send forth your Spirit, we are created;
and you renew the face of the ground.
